Blasphemy? Maybe.

No religion that existed on earth has ever worshipped their gods with as much fervor as the egyptians. The faith the belief and the undying trust they had in their gods was both phenomenal and disdainful. However, today while knowledge of the existence of this religions exists, it finds itself no takers at all. No body worships or lays faith in them though they also do not outrightly reject or accept these practices. The point to learn from here is, that no matter what religion you might practice today, at some point of time in the future, it may too become as irrelevant and sidelined as the ancient egyptians. No message from 'GOd' would stay on, no wrath of the gods would have been unleashed. Religion is only there to comfort the human mind often, most often, at the behest of those with their eyes on political power. Kings used religion to declare themselves demigods in order to justify their command over others.

So in this light, can Jesus also be called a phoney? He did after all claim to be the messenger of god with a desire to get people to believe what he says. Irrespective of whether he wanted the riches or not, he did gain a lot of power from & a place in the history it. Could this have been his intent? After all these are but the crudest and the most basic of human needs. So what if he suffered a lot for it too, he knew what he shall get from it at the end.

But to look at it from another tangent, maybe he knew that he was no messenger of god, but he simply created it all not to derive anything from it but rather to uplift mankind and address the issues of the poor and the sufferers. In that respect, maybe he was no real god but just a highly successful and popular social activist. Your views?
